DIARY: 'Chick lit' romance lands on Red Rooster desks

Staff at beauty and consumer shop Red Rooster PR are reaching for the super-strength man-sized tissue box after their latest win.

They have been appointed to handle the launch of Red Dress Ink - the latest romantic book series from housewives' favourite, Harlequin Mills and Boon.

Red Dress Ink is a programme aimed at quenching the seemingly insatiable appetite for 'chick lit' - sassy writing about single city girls.

The first fanciful tome Red Rooster is to set to crow about is called Milkrun, by Sarah Mlynowski. But will the campaign ever get off the ground with the entire office gripped by their complimentary copies?

'P will be so devastated that I have fallen for someone else, he'll realise I am his true love and ask me to get back together,' reads some of the pertinent prose. Stop that sniffing at the back.
