It will be launched at the Improvement and Development Agency conference in June. Consultants on the project, Carol Grant and Marina Pirotta, will then speak to the LGA's 'Have you heard?' conference in June to underline the importance of comms functions.
According to Grant, the address will stress the business case for comms, the importance of branding and the role corporate and internal comms can play within councils.
The themes tally with those of the toolkit, which is to be split into seven sections: overall comms strategy; internal comms and culture change; branding and image; comms with residents; media relations; and working with public and private sector partners.
