BOSTON: Highwire PR has opened an office in Boston, led by former ICR SVP Ross Levanto.
Levanto joined Highwire as SVP in late October and reports to principal Kathleen Gratehouse. The Boston office opened on December 1 with three staffers. Levanto, who was brought on to grow the firm’s presence and beef up talent in the office, anticipates growth in the coming year.
"Boston has always been a cradle for innovation," said Levanto, on why the firm has planted its flag in the city.
Highwire represents innovative technology companies that are operating in "really exciting, crowded markets," explained Levanto.
Levanto said enterprise infrastructure, enterprise software, and IT security are particular areas of growth in the Boston area, but noted the office also represents clients from other parts of the country. One Boston-based client is Veracode.
Highwire opens its Boston office after seeing "significant growth" in New York. In less than a year, the firm more than doubled its New York headcount and moved into 3,000 square feet of space to accommodate up to 30 staffers.
Levanto said Highwire grew over 25% in 2016. Highwire’s 2015 global revenue was $10,994,175, according to PRWeek's 2016 Agency Business Report. The firm also has offices in San Francisco and Chicago, along with strong partnerships around the world.
Highwire represents clients across industries including enterprise technology, IT security, digital health, consumer tech, financial technology, and marketing and advertising tech.
Earlier this year, Highwire won the PRWeek Award for Small PR Agency of the Year 2016.
Levanto was a PRWeek 40 Under 40 honoree in 2014. He joined Highwire from ICR, where he served as SVP for nine months. Before that, he was an SVP at MSLGroup, where he led the agency’s Boston tech practice.
