NEW YORK: Creative content shop fischerAppelt has opened an office in New York, the agency said Thursday.
Led by managing consultant Alexander Schaper, the newly formed team's work will include rolling out U.S. campaigns for German clients, market entry, and product launches.
"It was just a question of time of when to open an office in New York," CEO Andreas Fischer-Appelt said. "And I’m happy about that, and excited."
The office opened on Thursday with a team of three people, and it is hiring staffers with backgrounds in journalism and content.
The firm has expanded its U.S. team in the past two years as it began taking on more work for German clients that wanted to enter the American market. In 2015, the agency achieved global revenue of $78 million. It had a global headcount of just shy of 400 as of last year.
FischerAppelt is planning to continue to work with its 15 PROI Worldwide partners in the U.S., the firm said in a statement. Fischer-Appelt served as chairman of the agency alliance from 2014 to 2016, according to his LinkedIn account. FischerAppelt has been a PROI member since 2004.
FischerAppelt collaborates with G&S on b-to-b work, and it works with other PROI members such as Finn Partners on consumer-facing work. Its client roster includes Mercedes-Benz, Merck of Germany, Mondelez, American Express, and Yahoo. Fischer-Appelt declined to name clients working with its New York office.
