CHICAGO: Candace Mueller, VP of global communications at Hyatt Hotels, has departed the company after one year.
Global CMO Maryam Banikarim confirmed on Monday that Mueller no longer works at Hyatt, but said the company does not comment on personnel departures. She added that Hyatt is recruiting a replacement for Mueller.
"The team is covering [Mueller’s duties] in the interim," said Banikarim.
Mueller could not be immediately reached for comment.
As VP of global comms, Mueller was responsible for defining and executing a strategy for global internal and external communications, including social media. She oversaw integrated communications planning and messaging and initiatives that promoted, enhanced, and protected the organization’s reputation, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Before joining Hyatt last November, Mueller worked at PepsiCo in various roles since 2006. Most recently, she was senior director for PepsiCo North America’s nutrition communications and community relations. Previously, she worked on PepsiCo’s Quaker Oats brand as senior director of communications and chief of staff. Mueller was a VP at Cramer-Krasselt earlier in her career.
This month, Hyatt reported a mixed third-quarter, with its reported adjusted earnings beating analysts’ expectations, but revenue of $1.09 billion in the period falling short.
