Houston to celebrate Johnson Matthey birthday
FTSE 100 chemicals and sustainable technologies company Johnson Matthey has appointed Houston PR to deliver a global positioning programme to mark the company's 200th anniversary in 2017. The work will include public relations, social engagement, video and experiential activity, with the London agency working with the firm's comms projects director Ian Godwin.
British Academy hires comms chief
The British Academy, the UK's national body that supports and promotes humanities and social sciences, has appointed Liz Hutchinson as its new director of comms. She will take up the post in January and succeed Tim Brassell, who is retiring after nine years in the role. Hutchinson joins the organisation from Goldsmiths, University of London where she is director of communications and public affairs.
Firstlight wins ILM
The agency Firstlight has been appointed by ILM, a provider of leadership and management qualifications, on a 12-month brief. The firm, which has more than 2,500 approved training centres across the country, has recently launched a new brand identity.
Positive Marketing partners with US firm
UK PR, marketing and digital agency Positive Marketing has created a partnership with Silicon Valley consultancy Play Bigger. Together the firms will bring the concept of category design to Europe - category design is defined by Positive Marketing as "the discipline of creating and monetising new markets in a noisy world".
John Doe hired by Roundhouse
John Doe has been appointed to manage PR for the 2017 Roundhouse charity gala. The gala aims to raise funds for the North London arts venue, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
