MINNEAPOLIS: Welch’s, the National Grape Cooperative’s processing and marketing subsidiary, has picked PadillaCRT to handle its consumer PR and media relations. Welch’s is owned by a cooperative made up of 1,000 family farmers who grow concord grapes across North America.
NEW YORK: Ellen Kroner will retire from her role as EVP and chief communications officer at AMC Networks at the end of this year. She will be succeeded by Georgia Juvelis and Jim Maiella, who will serve as SVP and co-head of corporate communications, starting next year. Both will report to AMC Networks president and CEO Josh Sapan.
NEW YORK: Burson-Marsteller has hired Katherine Boehret as a senior director. She previously worked at The Verge, Recode, All Things Digital, and The Wall Street Journal. Boehret wrote "The Digital Solution," a weekly column taking the side of the average consumer, while at the Journal.
WASHINGTON: APCO Worldwide has appointed Jim Moorehead, former MD of Burson-Marsteller’s U.S. public affairs and crisis practice, to its International Advisory Council. He has also worked as a partner at Steptoe & Johnson, Goldman Sachs, and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Maryland.

LISBON: The Public Relations Global Network has added five communications affiliates to its alliance: Ad verum, which works across the Baltic states; Bulgarian shop Ardency Consulting; Canadian firm Media Profile, Copenhagen-based Scandinavian Communications; and Two cents. The firms joined the network this month at its meeting in Lisbon.
TIJUANA, MEXICO: San Diego-based Nuffer, Smith, Tucker has opened an office in Tijuana, Mexico, located in the city’s main business district, Zona Rio. It has added two staffers, Kathia Bustillos and Analicia Luken, who will work in the office.
