Good Agency wins Pernod brief
The Good Agency has been appointed by spirits firm Pernod Ricard to launch a new internal CSR campaign to its 18,000 global staff. One of the agency's roles will be to explain to staff why the owner of Beefeater gin, Jacob's Creek and other brands has decided to rename CSR as 'sustainability and responsibility' (S&R). The scheme launches next month.
PRCA members choose 2017's council
The PR and Communications Council, the PRCA's think tank, has 49 new elected members following an election process in which more than 1,500 votes were cast by members of the trade body. The full list of the members, who were will be in place through 2017 and were nominated in batches representing different sizes of agency, in-house roles, universities and other groups, is available here.
The council will be chaired in 2017 by Molly Aldridge, who has been vice-chair in 2016, and moves to take the top job from 1 January. The PRCA will shortly open nominations for a 2017 vice-chair, who will in turn become chair in 2018.
East Village wins trio
Birmingham agency East Village has won a trio of clients: 34-outlet retail gallery Washington Green Fine Art, the Birmingham Museums Trust, which owns the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, and newly launched contemporary photography venue Argentea Gallery.
Swiss firms merge
Two of Switzerland's largest PR firms will join forces next year when Farner Consulting acquires YJOO Communications. Farner says the move creates "the first truly integrated communications consultancy in Switzerland". YJOO majority shareholder becomes vice chair of the board and partner at Farner.
Mac & Wild pops up for Christmas
The Scottish restaurant Mac & Wild has launched winter pop-ups on the roof of John Lewis' Oxford Street branch and in Devonshire Square in The City. The outlet, whose permanent base is in the West End, has been described by critic Giles Coren as the "best restaurant in the world".
Siemens appoints India agency
Omnicom agency The PRactive, a partner firm of Portner Novelli, has been handed Siemens' PR mandate for India, following a competitive pitch. The tech and power firm joins clients of the agency that also include Adobe and Oracle.
