CCGroup, the UK's 86th largest PR firm, is charged with developing a new enterprise brand message for KCOM, and bringing that message to potential clients.
KCOM, which was spun out from Yorkshire telecomms provider Kingston Communications at the start of 2016, serves large enterprises including HMRC, Bupa and Coral.
The KCOM segment of the business had revenue of £250m in the year prior to separation.
KCOM chief marketing officer Cathy Phillips said CCGroup was selected for the brief because it demonstrated its knowledge of enterprise technology and was able to articulate the value KCOM can bring to clients.
The agency's CEO Richard Fogg called KCOM "a breath of fresh air in a market dominated by ageing, stodgy, staid IT and systems integration monoliths", going on to say: "The company is actively embracing innovative, edgy approaches to communications to tackle a systems integration market that is acting in its own interests, rather than that of its clients. This is going to be a lot of fun."
KCOM also works with Tavistock Communications for investor relations and corporate comms, and sponsors Hull FC.
