How 6 influencers are plugging #NationalSandwichDay for Subway

The sandwich chain tapped a group of influencers and bought a sponsored hashtag on Twitter on Thursday.

Subway has rallied a troop of social media and celebrity influencers to promote #GoodDeedFeed, the chain’s National Sandwich Day campaign.

Influencers including Zach King, who has more than 16 million followers on Instagram; Chachi Gonzales, with more than 1 million followers on YouTube and Instagram, respectively; and Sunny Mabrey, Maiah Ocando, David Lopez, and WWE wrestler Bayley. They created videos, GIFs, and photos using the #GoodDeedFeed hashtag and shared them on social media.

Subway also bought a sponsored hashtag on Twitter, which invites customers to buy any sub or drink on Thursday and get a free sandwich of equal or lesser value. For each purchase, Subway is donating one meal to Feeding America, the nationwide network of 200 food banks that provide food to more than 46 million people through 60,000 food pantries and meal programs across the U.S.

Subway will reveal its final donation after National Sandwich Day.

A dedicated Mic content series, which launched last month, is also promoting the campaign. The series features stories from Subway franchisees and families served by Feeding America food banks. Mic is making a meal donation each time the content is shared.
