He was previously group marketing communications director at financial technology business FNZ, which he joined from investment firm Friends Life Group, where he spent three years as group comms director.
As part of his new role, Gatoff will handle Lombard's global corporate communications, media relations and internal communications, reporting to the company's Europe CEO Axel Hörger and executive chairman John Hillman.
Speaking about Gatoff's appointment, Hillman said: "His experience and background in cross-media communications will greatly support our growth ambitions."
Gatoff, who will be based at the company's head office in Luxembourg, will oversee a team of around 12 people, a spokesperson told PRWeek.
