CMG, the Interpublic Group unit that contains Weber Shandwick and Golin, posted revenue growth of more than 9% in the third quarter.

Interpublic’s CMG unit up 9%-plus in Q3. Interpublic Group’s Constituency Management Group, which contains PR firms Weber Shandwick and Golin as well as a host of event and other marketing shops, registered organic revenue growth of 9.4% in the third quarter. The holding company as a whole reported a third-quarter profit of $128.6 million, beating analysts’ expectations, and organic revenue growth of 4.3% to $1.9 billion.

Groups want crackdown on influencer marketing. A coalition of advocacy organizations, including Public Citizen and the Center for Digital Democracy, are asking the Federal Trade Commission to get tough on brands they say use influencers to target children. The groups are set to ask the Federal Trade Commission on Friday to take action against Google, Disney, and three other companies, according to The Washington Post.

That’s awkward. A day after debating for the third and final time, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump traded barbs at the Al Smith Dinner, a quadrennial tradition at which the presidential candidates poke fun at each other and themselves and raise money for charity. Whether he went too far or the crowd just didn’t like him, Trump was booed for a few jabs at Clinton.

Blockbuster ratings for debate number three. The third presidential debate scored 71.6 million viewers, putting it in the top three all time along with the first showdown between the two candidates, which was watched by 84 million. Videos related to the four debates (including the vice presidential contest) have been watched more than 3.3 billion times.

Facebook: Sorry for deleting breast-cancer-awareness video. The social network apologized for removing a Breast Cancer Awareness Month video posted by the Swedish Cancer Society for violating its advertising policies. (The ad featured cartoon women with their breasts represented by pink circles). It quickly re-approved the video.
