WE ups Channon and hires Murphy
WE Communications has moved finance and operations leader Philip Channon to the new role of international chief operating officer, and appointed industry veteran Michael Murphy as non-executive director international. Murphy will report to EMEA and APAC president Alan VanderMolen, while Channon will report to global CFO Corey Kalbfleisch and to VanderMolen. VanderMolen, who like Channon previously worked for Edelman in Asia, said: "Michael and Phil provide us with accelerants to deepen our core sector capabilities across geographies while at the same time making sure our operations are run for maximum client benefit."
Costain and Instinctif veterans form agency
Graham Read has co-founded a new PR agency with two Instinctif veterans after leaving his role as comms director at engineering and construction company Costain Group last month. The London-based agency, called The Reputation, is led by Read as a partner, plus Tim Dunnell - who has more than 30 years of experience in comms, most recently at Instinctif - as managing partner. The other partner is Guy Lane, who also worked at Instinctif Partners and its predecessor College Hill.
Detail2Recruitment hires Refresh PR
Recruitment firm Detail2Recruitment has hired Manchester-based Refresh PR to lead a new direct marketing campaign aimed at the retail and leisure industries. Detail2Recruitment works with firms including Casual Dining Group, Mitchells and Butlers, Debenhams and Carphone Warehouse.
Restaurant group Bourgee hires EdenCancan
Steak and lobster restaurant brand Bourgee has hired PR agency EdenCancan as it looks to expand. The restaurant group opens a new site in Chelmsford on 1 October, with further sites secured in Bury St Edmunds and Norwich. London-based EdenCancan will handle PR around the openings. Bourgee’s existing site is in Southend-On-Sea.
