Finn's sweet wins
Finn, the 98th largest UK PR firm according to the PRWeek Global Agency Business Report, has been appointed by Fox's Biscuits as its retained PR and social media agency on 12-month contract. It has also won a bid to implement a consumer and trade campaign for the cake division of listed bakery manufacturer Finsbury Food Group. Work on both accounts begins this month. Finn has Leeds headquarters but opened a London office earlier in the summer.
Mental health initiative
A mental health initiative for young public affairs practitioners will be launched next month to help raise awareness, as well as offering advice and support. The inaugural free event, set up by training and mentoring professional Nikki da Costa in association with the APPC and PRCA, will be held on 10 October, which is World Mental Health Day, at The Institute of Psychoanalysis.
ibtm appoints Davies Tanner
ibtm events, part of Reed Travel Exhibitions, has appointed UK-based tourism and business events communication specialist Davies Tanner as its retained agency following a four-way competitive pitch. The global brief is for an initial two years, covering its whole portfolio of seven international shows.
Thoren flies RSPB nest
Beth Thoren, formerly director of fundraising and comms at bird welfare and conservation charity the RSPB, has joined environmental law firm ClientEarth as deputy CEO.
Stronger In PR's new role
Laura Round, who previously worked at pro-EU campaign Britain Stronger in Europe as a national press officer, has joined liberal conservative think-tank Bright Blue as comms manager.
