Former Nick Clegg aide takes global comms role at MP & Silva

A former special adviser to Nick Clegg has been appointed global head of comms at the media rights company MP & Silva.

Alex Dziedzan was a bridge between Clegg and then Home Secretary Theresa May’s department during his time as Deputy Prime Minister. He also worked with the Ministry of Justice during his employment with the Liberal Democrat leader between 2012 and 2015.

While working for Clegg, Dziedzan worked closely with May’s team, including the new Prime Minister's current Downing Street joint chiefs of staff Fiona Hill and Nick Timothy.

Following last year’s general election, Dziedzan worked for Lloyd's of London where he was senior manager of media relations.

While there, he worked alongside Tara Singh, a Conservative special adviser who went on to work on Zac Goldsmith’s mayoral campaign as head of policy, before joining First Utility earlier this summer.

Earlier in his career, Dziedzan was the social justice charity Nacro's media manager and before that he was a senior consultant at the public affairs agency Brevia Consulting.

At the MP & Silva, Dziedzan will be involved in all aspects of communications, including media relations, digital output and marketing, as well as managing a global team of six staff.

Dziedzan is also tasked with raising the profile of MP & Silva, which was valued at around £1.1bn when a Chinese investment group took a majority stake in it earlier this year.
