LOS ANGELES: Lagrant Communications has promoted Keisha Brown to EVP and chair of the agency’s new health and wellness practice.
Brown will be responsible for working with clients, building out the health practice team, and seeking new business. She is based in Lagrant’s headquarters in Los Angeles and will continue to report to Kim Hunter, president and CEO.
"One of the things we wanted to do was look at our strength and what we do best, and healthcare is what we do best," Brown said. "The agency was built because of the disparities that occur in healthcare in the African-American and multicultural audiences. So, we said, ‘Let’s formalize this.’"
Brown has worked at the agency for 21 years. Her most recent position was SVP and chief creative and innovative officer. Brown started at the agency as a junior account executive.
"I like the work we do, as the multicultural market is such an untapped market," Brown explained. "Part of the passion of being in this agency is being able to focus on these markets and to get our hands wet in a lot of different areas, because it’s a small agency."
During her time at Lagrant, Brown has worked with clients including Covered California, the American Cancer Society, Novartis, MetLife, and Verizon Wireless.
Lagrant is an integrated marketing communications firm focused on the African-American and Latino audiences. Hunter also founded the Lagrant Foundation, which focuses on increasing the number of ethnic minorities in PR, marketing, and advertising.
