Intrepid appoints Brighter Group

Intrepid Travel has appointed the travel and leisure PR firm Brighter Group as its sole UK consumer PR agency. It follows the ending of Intrepid's Peak Adventure Group joint venture with TUI, as the brand tries to assert itself as the leading global adventure travel provider. Intrepid has 1,000 staff globally and 40 in the UK, while Brighter has 17 staff and other clients include the Jordan Tourism Board, Avis and Korean Air. PR was previously handled in-house by Intrepid.

Bell Pottinger's Nomura recruit

Ian Shackleton, a qualified accountant who has worked for various investment banks, most recently as an MD at Nomura, is to join Bell Pottinger in its financial and corporate team at the start of next month. He will take the role of principal - reflecting his seniority rather than a management responsibility within the business - in the team led by Gavin Davis, announced last week that he would soon move to a senior comms position at Sky.

Whole Foods PR chief

As reported by PRWeek US, the retailer Whole Foods has appointed Brooke Buchanan to lead global PR, internal comms and government affairs, a Texas-based role.

Slingsby Gin hires for influencer brief

Consumer lifestyle agency Switched On has been handed a brief by Harrogate-based Slingsby Gin following a competitive pitch process. The agency has been tasked with building Slingsby’s presence in London and beyond, with a series of projects, focusing on linking the brand with key trade targets and influencers.

Ronge returns to Hotwire

Amy Ronge has been appointed senior programme director in the consumer team of Hotwire. She rejoins the agency, where she began her career as a graduate, from the agency Atomic.

See.Saw appointed by The Primal Pantry

See.Saw has been appointed to join The Primal Pantry. The agency has secured a 12 month PR-contract with premium raw paleo brand, The Primal Pantry, following a competitive pitch.
