Ranieri acquired by TMG
UK consumer tech agency Ranieri has become the first PR firm within The Marketing Group, which is listed on the Nasdaq First North Stockholm market. MD Pietro Ranieri remains in place and said the move will allow the agency to "expand on our current services as well as our reach into Europe". Clients include wearable tech firm Misfit and PRWeek sister title Stuff. Ranieri has 20 staff and is expected to generate £1.4m turnover this year. TMG's acquisition of Ranieri's parent firm Vodrum for a total of €13.7m (£11.6m) was confirmed last week.
BIG Partnership opens in Dundee
The BIG Partnership, Scotland’s largest PR agency, has continued its expansion with the opening of an office in Dundee - its fifth in Scotland and seventh in the UK. The BIG Partnership opened a Manchester office at the end of May.
Aspectus promotes Iley
Laura Iley, one of PRWeek UK's 30 Under 30 for 2016, has been promoted to the role of head of energy, oil and gas at the PR firm Aspectus. She joined the company in 2013 and was previously head of oil and gas.
ClassicLine hires Red Marlin
Classic car insurer ClassicLine has appointed Red Marlin to manage its PR, marketing and social media activities. Red Marlin will develop a series of campaigns designed to reflect ClassicLine’s "lighter approach to insurance", the agency said.
W wins Jinn
App-based courier service Jinn has appointed the agency W to help it roll out across the UK. Work began in late June.
