AIG appoints Brunswick's Cindy Leggett-Flynn chief communications officer

She will join the company next month, reporting to AIG's chief operating officer.

NEW YORK: American International Group has named Cindy Leggett-Flynn SVP and chief communications officer, effective September 19.

She will report to Jeffrey Hurd, EVP and COO, with oversight of AIG’s communications strategy. Leggett-Flynn will be responsible for media relations, corporate brand and marketing, internal comms, and corporate citizenship.

Leggett-Flynn has worked at Brunswick Group since 2000, most recently as a managing partner based in New York and previously as managing partner for Greater China, based in Hong Kong. She oversaw Brunswick’s offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai in the Greater China role.

Before joining Brunswick, she was acting U.S. head of communications for biotech company Chiroscience Group, according to a statement from AIG.
