Engine hires Leo Burnett’s Richard Dutton as CMO
Engine, the parent company of 13 marcoms firms including MHP, has hired Leo Burnett’s Richard Dutton as its new chief marketing officer. Dutton will move into the role at the end of July. Dutton has spent the past seven years as business development director for creative agency Leo Burnett’s integrated marketing practice, Arc Worldwide, and is a board member of the Direct Marketing Association.
Claremont takes contact lens brief
The agency Claremont has been appointed to run a contact lens safety campaign for the General Optical Council, following a competitive pitch. The GOC’s first consumer-facing campaign will use media relations and mobilise opticians and optometrists to encourage contact lens wearers to follow all the steps needed to avoid the risk of eye damage.
LyteSpark brings in Redleaf
Redleaf Communications has been appointed to provide PR services to LyteSpark, a new, cloud-based video conferencing platform designed to help connect remote teams, clients, customers or suppliers. The account will be managed by Rishi Banerjee, Roy Turner and Sofie Ford.
Virgo Health makes creative hires
Virgo Health has appointed Nicole Burns as social media strategist and Paul Andrews as head of design to the Virgo Pharmacy team, a creative studio for Virgo’s digital, design and innovation content. Burns joins the Interpublic-owned healthcare specialist from digital marketing agency Spinnaker and Andrews from Ogilvy Healthworld.
Travel People appoints firstlight
Travel People, a new media business within the lastminute.com group, has appointed firstlight to handle a pan-European PR programme. Travel People will help brands to reach European travellers via lastminute's various online travel brands. It launched earlier this month. The agency's brief covers the UK, Italy and Spain.
