In April, L&Q, The Hyde Group and East Thames Group announced they were looking to merge to create a new firm worth £30bn, which would aim to build 100,000 new homes across London and the South East over the next 10 years.

L&Q said this would create one of the biggest housebuilders in the country, and the largest affordable homes group.

The companies are looking for a PR firm to promote the benefits of the merger to stakeholder groups, emphasise its social benefits and manage PR risks.

PRWeek understands the brief is likely to be worth around £5,000 per month from the August start date up to the merger process completing in April 2017.

The companies already use various PR firms for local projects, including Oracle PR and Edelman.

L&Q press and public affairs manager Jenny Riddell, who has taken on the title of head of merger comms, is handling the search for the new PR agency. Expressions of interest are invited by Friday (8 July).
