Founded in 1890 in Nottingham, the cycle maker has more than 1,500 partner dealers across the country, and has taken on the Didsbury agency to provide both trade and consumer PR.
It will support the firm's Bike for Life campaign.
The website of the firm – which has not previously had a PR agency – does not currently give contact details in the 'media' section of its 'contact us' page, saying: "It’s not that we’re shy, it’s just that our small team is inundated with requests and bombarded with junk mail. So much so that it becomes hard to filter the great opportunities from the not-so-great. For that reason we don’t publish our media and PR contact details."
Conker MD Sarah Wallwork said Raleigh was a "Great British institution". The agency will report to marketing manager Michelle Jakeway.
The agency has also won a brief to work with Real Handful, a healthy snacking start-up. Its products are stocked by Holland & Barrett and Ocado.
