MSLGroup rejigs UK consumer leadership after Victoria Biggs' departure

MSLGroup has made changes to its UK consumer team following the departure of consumer managing director Victoria Biggs, with healthcare MD Avril Lee named as acting consumer head.

Lee, who will combine her consumer role with her existing position in the healthcare arm, has been joined by new hires Amber O’Conner and former MSLGroup employee Carson Gray Elias.

Gray Elias - who previously headed MSLGroup’s specialist practice dedicated to luxury, lifestyle and fashion brands in North America – returns to the agency after a stint at Edelman, where she helped establish its UAE office. Gray Elias now leads the UK luxury and lifestyle team.

O’Conner joins as global and EMEA director to run existing and new accounts, both global and regional, across MSLGroup. O’Conner, who helped set up Edelman UK’s consumer health practice before stints at Weber Shandwick and Citizen, was most recently head of comms at UK Shared Business Services, a private company that provides administrative and operational support to the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and its partner organisations.

Biggs is to leave MSLGroup later this summer to become European comms chief at Trainline, PRWeek reported earlier on Monday.

Lee said: "Victoria has been a strong leader of MSLGroup’s consumer practice and will be missed both personally and professionally. We wish her well in her new role at Trainline.

"These are exciting times and I’m very much looking forward to leading a team that’s already doing a great job driving commercial objectives for some of the world’s largest consumer brands and clients."

Lee was formerly UK CEO of Ketchum, leaving in February 2013.
