Dan Hill launches crisis comms, government affairs firm

WASHINGTON: Dan Hill, former president at Ervin Hill Strategies, has launched Hill Impact, his own communications and government affairs firm.

Hill, who was president at Ervin Hill for four years, left his position this month. He and his core team of five will specialize in crisis communications, government affairs, high-profile public affairs cases, defense, and homeland security.

"I consider us a bit of a special forces team in communications and government affairs," Hill said. "We’re light, small, and fast."

The firm is working primarily with Silicon Valley tech companies, nonprofits, and universities. It also has a service for professional athletes called Pro Impact. The firm’s clients include supply chain and logistics company Flex and U.S. work for an Italian aerospace company he did not identify.

Hill is also bringing Big Brothers Big Sisters of America over from his previous firm. He has worked with the organization for two years.

"You can hand him very knotty and complex situations and he grasps them very quickly and puts forth a plan of action," said Pam Iorio, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Hill, prior to Ervin Hill, worked as VP of strategy and federal business for AgustaWestland, a European aerospace and defense company, for seven years. Before that, he was MD at Chlopak, Leonard, Schechter & Associates and communications adviser to former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson.

"I like to adapt to where things are today, and I want to be ahead of the game," Hill said. "It made sense to start with a clean sheet for the next venture and design it exactly with what I think clients are looking for."
