DIARY: Chelgate puts faith in its horse Positive Profile

The start of British horse-racing's flat season this month is generating excitement at corporate and public affairs firm Chelgate.

In addition to handling PR work for the Tote, for the past ten years the agency has owned its own horses. This season, staff are hoping its contender Positive Profile will break into the big time.

Already a five-times-out-of-ten winner on the all-weather circuit, the four-year-old colt is to run at Doncaster next week.

Chelgate chairman and CEO Terence Fane-Saunders said: 'He's a real stayer and we have high hopes this season.'

The horse is wholly-owned by Chelgate, but Fane-Saunders insists the training bill is outweighed by the business benefits: 'Financially we just about break even with most of our horses,' he says.
