The PRWeek editorial team discusses the week's top PR- and comms-related news stories (and Mike Francesa).

On this episode:

Mike Fernandez, who for nearly six years has managed communications, government relations, CSR, and brand marketing for food and agricultural organization Cargill, announced that he would be stepping down from his current position on June 4. A perennial spokesperson for diversity and inclusion in the communications industry, Fernandez’s work has been recognized with honors and awards including induction into the 2015 PRWeek Hall of Fame, a PRSA Paladin Award, the Institute for Public Relations’ Alexander Hamilton Medal, and the Hispanic Public Relations Association’s Pioneer Award. The PRWeek editorial team discusses Fernandez’s body of work and where his career might go from here.

McDonald’s became the latest brand to jump on the Facebook Live bandwagon despite initial apprehension over the possibility of trolling and negative feedback. Instead, their live stream was met with around 80% positive or neutral feedback. PRWeek senior report Diana Bradley explains how McDonald’s executed the live event and what consumers thought of it.

Plus, PadillaCRT makes another acquisition, Mike Francesa goes off on soccer, and more.
