Brett joins the firm after running his own agency, based in Wales. He said he took the decision to return to an in-house role as 'economically I couldn't sustain an agency in Pembrokeshire'.
He returns to in-house PR having previously worked as a press officer for the Law Society and in journalism.
At GeoPost he heads a two-strong PR operation, reporting to marketing director John Acton. While the company does not currently use external agency support, Brett indicated that he will be looking to engage external help on tactical work during the coming six months: 'My idea is that I can handle strategic work but will have to buy in help for tactical stuff.'
Brett added that the focus would be on improving the firm's media relations efforts before looking at other areas of PR.
Key work over the coming year will include the launch of a global air distribution service in May, with PR work on that project commencing immediately.
