Following the agency’s success in the large agency category of PRWeek Asia’s first Best Places to Work competition, Weber Shandwick has rewarded its entire APAC staff by giving them all Friday afternoon (today) off.
Employees across the whole region will have this afternoon to themselves, the agency announced.
Weber, along with seven other agencies and two in-house comms teams, was revealed as a Best Places to Work victor on Monday, and the win was celebrated across all its APAC offices.
Baxter Jolly, CEO of Weber Shandwick APAC, told PRWeek Asia: "The agency world is built on people, and in today's highly competitive war on talent, investing in your employees and valuing them as people with lives rather than just a workforce is a must.
"We let employees leave early or have days off on an ad hoc basis throughout the year to mark special occasions, festivities or simply as a token of our appreciation for the hard work that they do. In this particular instance, we could not have won this special award without their voice. Allowing them to spend the afternoon off with their loved ones is simply the best way for us to show our gratitude."
