CHICAGO: Omron Healthcare, a manufacturer of heart health and wellness products, has hired MWWPR as its AOR. The firm is preparing a national heart health campaign targeting consumers and the medical community.
John Digles, EVP and head of the health and wellness practice, is leading account work by a team of seven from MWW’s Chicago office. The heart health campaign will include media tours, speaking engagements, and using social influencers to get the message out to consumers and physicians.
Omron’s goal is to eliminate heart attacks and strokes, and it will use the national campaign to raise awareness for that goal and its range of wearable heart-monitor products. The company wants to work with consumers, physicians, and organizations such as the American Heart Association to reach its goal.
"Let’s put the big, hairy, audacious goal out there and work towards it," said Ranndy Kellogg, CEO of Omron Healthcare. "We know we’re not going to be able to hit it in year one or maybe even in year 20, but it motivates people."
MWW previously worked with Omron on a preview of its Project Zero blood-pressure monitors at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. The company’s prior agency was Current PR. Omron did not hold a formal RFP process, but asked three agencies to pitch ideas about how to run its upcoming campaign.
"We went after it hard," said Digles. "For our wellness practice, we really look for the change agents. We look for companies that have the equity, the goods, and the vision to really change things and make a difference."
MWW's other health and wellness clients include Glanbia, Biolase, Johnson & Johnson, and Healthways.
