Superdrug puts consumer and trade PR account out to tender

Superdrug has put its consumer and trade PR brief, believed to be worth six figures annually, out to tender, PRWeek has learned.

A number of agencies have been invited to pitch for the account, which has been held by Z PR since 2005.

Z PR was retained for the brief in 2013 following a review of the retailer's comms needs. Cow PR was added to Superdrug’s agency line-up in 2013 on a specific healthcare brief, which is also out to tender as part of the process.

In a statement, Superdrug said: "We can confirm that Superdrug is running its scheduled biannual PR agency tender process. All agencies invited to be involved have been informed of the process and no further agencies will be added to the list. All incumbent agencies have been invited to re-tender for the business."

Superdrug is the country’s second largest beauty and health retailer, currently operating more than 800 stores in the UK and Ireland.
