Post-it war breaks out between Havas Worldwide and Omnicom Health Group

Trash talk on Twitter as Spiderman, Marge Simpson, and 'Becky with the Good Hair' fill windows across Canal Street

Work must have been slow on Friday because a full-fledged Post-it note war broke out between Havas Worldwide and Omnicom Health Group across Canal Street in New York City.

Creatives at the agencies kept track of the progress on Twitter using the hashtags #canalnotes, #postitwars, and #windowwars.

The battle seems to have began on Tuesday with this innocent "promposal:"

On Friday, things escalated. It seems that Havas Worldwide initiated the war, starting out with a briefcase full of colored Post-it notes.

The Omnicom Health Group building is comprised of several creative agencies including Biolumina. Located on the 10h floor, the agency created the Marge and Maggie Simpson, Spiderman, and Lorax characters that appeared on the windows.

Talk about honing in on that creative energy!

Havas Worldwide was definitely in a competitive spirit. The agency later won a Silver Pencil at the One Show on Friday night.

Things got a little crazy.

This video in a tweet from @IHemmingway shows a lot of the carnage:
