Burson gets cultured
Burson-Marsteller’s brand and consumer practice has been awarded a project to promote Denmark’s second city of Aarhus in the run-up to its year as the European Capital of Culture 2017. The agency has been briefed to drive consumer and media awareness of the city’s attractions and maximise its international visibility.
Ted Baker appoints Aduro
Ted Baker Footwear has appointed Aduro Communications to drive awareness of the brand through news generation, consumer and press events and product placement. It will be led by associate and creative director Poppy Lewis and the firm's new fashion and beauty division, and will build to the launch of a new luxury range for 2017.
Hanover wins Henley
Henley Royal Regatta has appointed Hanover's sport practice – which launched last year with the hire of Claire Furling – to run the press office at the event’s 2016 edition and "grow and enhance the regatta’s pre-eminence and reputation in future years", a Hanover release said. The regatta takes place between the end of June and beginning of July.
Crown Estate promotes
Commercial real estate business The Crown Estate, which owns almost the entire freehold of London's Regent Street among other properties, has promoted Fiona Mannion to the newly created role of head of media, reporting to corporate affairs head Andy Payne. Payne was promoted to the role earlier this year. Mannion joined the company in 2014.
Eurovision judge turns to Tin Man
Tin Man has been appointed by vocal coach and chair of the UK’s judging panel for The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, CeCe Sammy, to help raise her profile. A former backing singer for Diana Ross, Sammy has also worked with the Spice Girls, Will Young, Beverly Knight and others.

Semaphore London rebrands
Semaphore London has rebranded as Common Industry after a little more than a year in business. The fledgling agency said it needed a name fit for the future after it discovered that it shared its original name with a large IT company based in the US, which had "a lockdown on the trademark".
