Black British PR launches to target African and Caribbean communities

Black Britons are the target audience of a new PR agency specialising in reaching African and Caribbean communities in the UK.

Black British PR was launched late last month by Chantelle Lewis and is based in London.

Lewis has never worked for a PR agency, but told PRWeek she has more than ten years' experience in PR and sales, including organising charity events at O2 venues in London and handling PR for athletes including professional basketball player Paul Guede and Daniel Lewis, Jamaica’s number-one triple jumper.

"I specialise in the black British community because that is my core, my community, my passion, my talent, in which I am completely involved and invested," said Lewis.

"If you want black customers or clients, you need to have a strategic and specific campaign focused on that audience," she said.

Prospective clients can expect to pay a minimum of £5,000 a month for media management, with social media campaigns starting at £2,000 a month and event management charged from £500 a day, the firm's website says.
