NEW YORK: RF|Binder has hired Aman Singh, previously a VP at Edelman, as senior managing editor for content strategy in the firm’s corporate and brand purpose practice, the firm said on Friday.
Singh started in the role, based in New York, on Thursday. She is reporting to Scott Beaudoin, chief strategy officer and executive MD of the corporate and brand purpose practice.
The role is newly created. Singh is responsible for communications for brand purpose, social impact, and sustainability on specific issues such as recycling, renewable energy, and waste, for the firm’s clients.
"I hope what [Singh] adds to our already strong practice are the technical skills and the great experience she has in taking sustainability mainstream for businesses," Beaudoin said.
Singh previously worked at Edelman as VP of the business and social purpose practice. Previously, she was editorial director of CSRwire and wrote about corporate responsibility for Forbes and Vault.com. She also spent time at The Wall Street Journal.
"It’s very hard in the marketplace these days to find someone who has the technical know-how and really great writing skills," Beaudoin said, "someone who knows how to translate social and environmental issues for businesses."
Beaudoin only started working at RF|Binder in January after spending eight years as the leader of MSLGroup’s global CSR and sustainability practice. RF|Binder also added Kathryn Seidenstein, a veteran of Bloomberg Philanthropies, to its staff in March as chief talent and culture officer.
"A lot of the best and well known CSR and sustainability communications people are looking for smaller, boutique agencies where we all believe we can make an impact," Beaudoin said.
This story was updated on April 29 to correct Singh's title, which is senior managing editor for content strategy.
