Leading Chinese internet company Baidu has lost its director of international communications, Kaiser Kuo, as he returns to the US.
Recognised as an extremely significant figure in China’s technology and media, Kuo moved to China more than 20 years ago from New York.
Previously a journalist at Red Herring, in 2007 Kuo joined Ogilvy & Mather China as group director of digital strategy. After two years he moved to Youku, before joining Baidu six years ago.
Kuo is also renowned for creating the Sinica Podcast, which he co-hosts with Jeremy Goldkorn. The show was acquired by an unnamed New York startup, prompting Kuo’s decision to leave Baidu and return to the US.
