McBee Strategic heads up digital practice with Garth Moore

WASHINGTON: McBee Strategic Consulting has hired Garth Moore, formerly of the One Campaign, as head of its digital office, the firm said on Monday.

Based in Washington, D.C., the VP of digital role includes managing and growing the firm’s digital work. He is reporting to Eric Bovim, MD at McBee.

"Our shop has become so integrated that we knew we needed a digital executive to grow and expand our leadership in that space," Bovim said.

Moore worked in several positions on the digital and new media teams at One Campaign, an international nonprofit that works to end poverty and preventable disease, for five years. He has also held roles at charity and advocacy organizations including 1Sky, Changing Our World, the American Civil Liberties Union, Charity Dynamics, and the ASPCA.

McBee added in-house video operations to its digital shop earlier this year.

"[Moore’s] arrival is a move to amplify our digital offering," Bovim said. "It’s an effort by us to continue to diversify our revenue stream beyond PR and to stay ahead of the market."

Earlier this month, McBee, which was acquired by Wiley Rein in late 2014, partnered with two former advisers to the U.K. treasury to expand its reach to London. McBee also hired former Politico congressional reporter Lauren French this month to lead its Press Office offering.
