NEW YORK: Cohn & Wolfe has hired Candace McCaffery as MD of its Atlanta office.
McCaffery started in the role in February and reports to Jim Joseph, Cohn & Wolfe’s chief integrated marketing officer and president for the Americas. The last person to hold the Atlanta MD position at Cohn & Wolfe was Stephen Michael Brown, who departed last September. He is now chief innovation officer for Cookerly Public Relations, according to his LinkedIn profile.
As Atlanta MD, McCaffery is overseeing day-to-day operations, client relations, and business development activities. She could not disclose the number of people she oversees.
"My priority here is to grow the Atlanta office," said McCaffery. "Cohn and Wolfe was born in Atlanta and I have spent my entire career here, so I have a great deal of respect for the brand and company."
Prior to joining Cohn & Wolfe, McCaffery was SVP of global marketing for Powa Technologies, a payments company. She left Powa in February, right before it went bankrupt.
During her year-and-a-half stint there, McCaffery led global b-to-b marketing efforts for the PowaPOS start-up division.
Before that, she was a principal at CKM Communications, senior consultant for Porter Novelli, and chief strategy officer at Cookerly Public Relations, according to her LinkedIn profile.
McCaffery has worked with clients including The Weather Channel, Verifone, SunTrust Banks, PolicyGenius, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Georgia Health Information Network, and the State Road and Tollway Authority.
Earlier this year, Cohn & Wolfe hired Scott Cocchiere as MD of creative and content and appointed Callie Jernigan as U.S. entertainment marketing leader.
