The new brief, given to the agency last week on an initial one-year contract, follows three years of work by Black Diamond as Movado's multi-channel media planning buying agency in the UK. The agency also continues its media work with Movado.
There was no competitive pitch process; Black Diamond was handed the work having taken the idea for the expanded remit to the client.
While primarily known as a travel specialist, with clients including British Airways, Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau, Visit California and Colorado Tourism, Black Diamond established a consumer PR division 12 months ago.
Clients of the division include dressmaker Dynasty London, scarf business Bianca Elgar and footwear firm Chelsea Paris. Led by head of luxury Laurie Milne, the division will promote each of the three watch brands independently.
According to its website, Black Diamond is 22 years old and has more than 50 retained clients.
