Brands2Life in as uSwitch changes agency after six months with 3 Monkeys

Brands2Life has taken on the energy PR brief for price comparison and switching service - a brief previously held by 3 Monkeys Communications for just six months.

Brands2Life has been given a remit of "reinforcing’s brand position as a consumer champion and developing campaigns that encourage more people to switch their energy suppliers and save money", the agency said in a statement.

The brief was given to the agency last month, having been handled since October by 3 Monkeys, the agency now known as 3 Monkeys Zeno following a merger earlier this year.

Charlotte Nunes, head of PR at uSwitch, told PRWeek that after several months of working with 3 Monkeys, uSwitch "realised that Brands2Life would probably be a better partner", saying it was one of the agencies that had pitched for the account last summer, and was a frontrunner at the time.

3 Monkeys MD Christine Jewell told PRWeek that the agency and client had parted "on good terms".

Nunes said: "We chose to work with Brands2Life because we needed an agency to help with innovative ways to tackle the apathy around switching, help us reach new audiences and build our profile in consumer media. We are a strong consumer champion and want to use this reputation to encourage more people to get a better deal on energy."

She also said that while the website did use a small amount of TV advertising, this was not on the same scale as competitors, saying uSwitch instead relied more on PR. Rivals MoneySuperMarket and Go Compare have both run high profile TV campaigns in recent years.

In addition to Brands2Life holding the energy brief, uSwitch works with Capella PR for its banking and insurance businesses, and Rhizome for broadband and mobile segments.

The property search website Zoopla, which acquired uSwitch in April 2015, also named Brands2Life as its consumer agency in January this year.
