Lloyds Banking Group appoints Grayling for PA brief

Grayling has been appointed by Lloyds Banking Group for a public affairs brief following a competitive five-way pitch.

The agency will support the banking group’s public affairs engagement work across the UK, working with brands including Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Scottish Widows.

A major focus of the work will be supporting it to deliver its Helping Britain Prosper plan, which focuses on the key social and economic challenges facing the country today. The plan was launched in 2014 but an updated version was announced last month as the banking sector as a whole continues its attempts to rebuild its reputation.
Lloyds Banking Group put its EU-level public affairs brief up for review in 2012 at a time the taxpayer-backed bank faced increasing pressure to cut costs.

Grayling had already been working with Lloyds Banking Group in Scotland for three years.
