NEW YORK: Ogilvy Public Relations has promoted Dan La Russo to MD of its San Francisco and Denver offices, effective immediately, the firm said Monday morning.
La Russo will focus on growing the WPP agency’s client base and services in the two locations and is reporting to both Michael Dobak, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather West, and Ogilvy PR global CEO Stuart Smith.
He previously served as EVP of the technology practice, SVP and co-lead of the West Coast technology unit, and VP at Ogilvy PR, according to his LinkedIn profile. La Russo has worked with clients including Google, Intel, Sun Microsystems, and Brocade during his time at Ogilvy.
In the expanded position, he is replacing the roles formerly held by Nathan Friedman in San Francisco and Tara May in Denver. Friedman has left Ogilvy, while May joined the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association in February as director of communications and external affairs, according to her LinkedIn account.
Last month, Ogilvy PR hired RF/Binder’s Karen Paff as an SVP on its Media Influence team in New York and widened the responsibilities of SVP Tara Mullins.
This story was updated on April 6 to correct the fact that Friedman has left the firm.
