NEW YORK: Cohn & Wolfe has hired Scott Cocchiere as MD of creative and content and appointed Callie Jernigan as U.S. entertainment marketing leader.
Both are reporting to Jim Joseph, chief integrated marketing officer and president of the Americas. The firm did not say how many staffers either Cocchiere or Jernigan are overseeing.
Cocchiere joined Cohn & Wolfe in his newly created role in February and is based in New York. He is responsible for overseeing and expanding the content strategy and production services at the firm, working closely with leadership to fuel the agency’s integrated marketing efforts for its clients. Cocchiere is leading a team of creatives and content developers across the U.S., using video, mobile, digital, print, and experiential platforms.
"When people think about creative and content, everyone’s mind goes to consumer," said Cocchiere. "But what has been impressive to me has been the fluency and awareness of our team members across all the practice areas – corporate, healthcare, and everything in between – seeing the value of creative ideas and content-led programs."
Jernigan stepped into the U.S. entertainment marketing leader role earlier this year as an extension of her position as MD of Cohn & Wolfe’s Austin, Texas, office, which she joined last June. She is leading Cohn & Wolfe’s entertainment practice, which applies pop-culture-based solutions across a spectrum of entertainment possibilities, including collaborations with digital content creators, screenwriters, TV producers, and film producers.
"The entertainment practice at Cohn & Wolfe has been led by Jim Joseph for a while," said Jernigan. "He wanted to see someone who could own it more specifically. For us, it is about connecting the entire network with what the world of entertainment and pop culture has to offer."
Cocchiere and Jernigan’s teams are working closely together.
Before joining Cohn & Wolfe, Cocchiere was SVP and creative director at Emanate. He was credited with building that firm’s creative and digital content offering and driving new business growth before leaving that role in February. Previously, he held creative and content leadership roles at marketing agencies including OgilvyAction and Marketing Drive. Cocchiere has worked with clients including Philips, Reckitt Benckiser, KFC, Hilton, Bank of America, and Dannon.
Emanate merged with Access Communications at the start of this year.
Jernigan joined the agency last year from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, where she led the North American PR department in her role as VP of publicity. Jernigan worked at the entertainment company for eight years.
"I loved my time working in the entertainment industry, and with that insight I am helping [Cohn & Wolfe clients] figure out what is now and next in the world of entertainment," she said. "I am helping clients figure out where entertainment is going with virtual reality, augmented reality, and mobile experiences; and figuring out new and unexpected ways to create cultural relevancy for our brands."
