NEW YORK: Digital financial services investment and advisory firm Anthemis Group has appointed former MSLGroup digital practice leader Leslie Campisi as its CMO, the company said Wednesday.
She will lead the company’s team focused on growing its brand among investors, clients, partners, and entrepreneurs globally, it said in a statement.
London-based Anthemis is expanding its footprint in the U.S. after raising a $100 million fund to launch a New York City office at the beginning of this year. The company also hired Tom Ryan, formerly a Barclays executive, as head of Anthemis Americas last November.
Campisi was most recently SVP and digital practice leader at MSLGroup, where she worked with client PayPal, among others after joining the Publicis Groupe agency last August. Prior, she helped to launch Hotwire in the U.S., overseeing the technology-focused agency’s New York and San Francisco offices, and was VP and partner at Affect.
MSLGroup’s former global CSR and sustainability practice leader, Scott Beaudoin, also left the firm for RF|Binder earlier this year.
Key MSLGroup technology client PayPal began reviewing its account covering US comms and global consumer and merchant PR last month, including work on product brands PayPal, Venmo, Braintree, Paydiant, and Xoom. It also includes work within the technology, credit, and risk areas. MSLGroup was invited to re-pitch.
Publicis Groupe said last week that it is merging the reputation and communications practice of creative shop Leo Burnett within MSLGroup Chicago to create an integrated PR offering under the MSLGroup Chicago brand. Amy Cheronis is leading the unit, reporting to Ron Guirguis, the PR firm’s CEO of U.S. operations.
The firm’s collaboration with Abbott on the Similac’s Sisterhood of Motherhood effort won Campaign of the Year at the PRWeek Awards earlier this month.
