LINE hires Ogilvy PR for Indonesia

Agency will provide communications and social media services to the messaging company.

Global mobile messaging platform LINE has appointed Ogilvy PR as its communications partner in Indonesia.

Established in Japan in 2011, LINE has become one of Asia’s most popular messenger services, with more than 700 million users across the continent.

The company is looking to boost its presence in Indonesia, where is the market leader for messaging platforms.

Ogilvy will be responsible for increasing awareness of and engagement with LINE in Indonesia, where the number of mobile internet users grew by 22 percent between 2014 and 2015.

This is estimated grow by a further 25 percent in 2016.

"Our goal will be to help ensure LINE cement its reach across all corners of Indonesian society - from teens to mothers, entrepreneurs to multinationals, and more - so they can connect, collaborate and communicate," Said Marianne Admardatine, managing director of Ogilvy PR and Ogilvy & Mather Indonesia.
