Younger joins the pharmaceutical giant on 18 April, replacing Caroline Hempstead, who has been hired by building materials manufacturer LafargeHolcim as head of comms.
AstraZeneca said Younger will lead the company’s global corporate affairs function from its UK headquarters, having global responsibility for all internal and external comms and government relations.
Most recently, Younger was senior MD and partner at FTI Consulting in London. She previously held senior comms roles at Deutsche Bank as global head of comms and client marketing for investment banking, and at GlaxoSmithKline as global head of comms and community partnerships.
Younger was previously at Glaxo Wellcome as head of investor relations, where she was involved in the firm’s merger with SmithKline Beecham. She also spent time as head of investor relations at British Gas.
