BATTLE CREEK, MI: Kellogg’s North American leader vowed Monday to investigate the person or people responsible for posting a video online of a man urinating on a food-production line at a company facility.
The company posted a letter from Paul Norman, North American president, online on Monday expressing his outrage over the incident.
"Food quality is of the utmost importance to Kellogg and our company was founded on the values of integrity and accountability. We are outraged by this completely unacceptable situation," he said. "Our promise to you is that we will move swiftly and decisively on your behalf, and that we will continue to do everything in our power to maintain your trust."
The letter also noted that the company has launched a "full-scale" internal investigation, and it contacted authorities, who have initiated a criminal inquiry of their own. It said the food potentially involved, Rice Krispies Treats, granola clusters, and puffed rice treats, "would have been very limited and past their expiration dates."
The company encouraged customers to contact it via social media and its consumer response email and phone lines. It linked to the letter on Twitter via a pinned tweet.

The video was uploaded to World Star Hip Hop on Friday. The company determined it was nearly two years old and taken in a Memphis, Tennessee, facility. Kellogg said it does not know why the video was uploaded so long after the incident happened.
The company’s social media accounts were besieged on Monday by customers demanding answers about the incident.
