H+K Strategies hires new China CEO
Hill+Knowlton Strategies today announced the creation of a new position, China CEO, and has hired QC Liang to fill it.
Liang brings more than 25 years’ communications experience to H+K. He arrives from TCL Corporation in Shenzhen, where he spent nine years and was most recently assistant president and general manager of branding. Click here to read more.
Portmeirion Group appoints Wolfstar for anniversary campaign
British pottery company Portmeirion has appointed PR and social media agency Wolfstar to deliver an integrated comms campaign for the 200th anniversary of its Spode Blue Italian design.
Wolfstar has been briefed to increase brand awareness and raise the profile of Spode and Blue Italian’s rich history, and engage with new and existing audiences. The 12-month campaign will include social media, media relations, blogger outreach and a host of creative initiatives.
Socialbakers hires Sherlock Communications
Global social media analytics company Socialbakers has hired Anglo-Brazilian consultancy Sherlock Communications as its retained agency for the Brazilian market, following a competitive process.
Sherlock Communications has been tasked with developing a media strategy to broaden the company’s profile, moving away from specialist marketing and media titles to a more senior buyer audience.
The agency will also build the profile of Socialbakers' global and LATAM management team as industry leaders and raise the firm’s corporate profile as one of the world’s most successful tech start-ups of the past decade.
Socialbakers was founded in 2009 and enables brands to measure, compare and contrast the success of their social media campaigns.
IHG promotes Yasmin Diamond
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has promoted Yasmin Diamond, currently SVP of global corporate affairs, to the company's executive committee.
The promotion will take effect from 4 April, when Diamond will take up the new title of executive vice-president, global corporate affairs. She joined IHG in April 2012.
Before joining IHG, Yasmin was director of comms at the Home Office, and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Before working in government comms, she was publicity commissioner for the BBC.
Golley Slater wins pitch for The Botanist
Golley Slater PR has been appointed to handle the consumer comms for pub operator New World Trading Company’s Leeds site, The Botanist.
The agency has been tasked with raising the profile of the business and brand regionally, and driving sales. Golley Slater’s leisure and lifestyle team will also manage the press office for the site.
ICCO appoints Charlene Corrin to GM
The International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) has appointed Charlene Corrin to the role of General Manager.
Corrin was previously the PR Lions Awards Manager for Lions Festivals, responsible for management of the PR awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Spikes Asia, Eurobest and Dubai Lynx events.
In her new role Corrin will be responsible for the day-to-day running of ICCO, assisting the chief executive, President and Board of Management to set the overall strategy for the organisation, communicating key trends of interest to the worldwide PR industry, and organising the annual ICCO Global Summit and ICCO Global PR Awards.
Interel Group appoints senior advisor
Interel has appointed a new senior adviser, Fruzsina Harsanyi, who will work closely with the group's CEO and US director, advising clients and tackling global public affairs issues.
Harsanyi has previously held the role of vice-president of public affairs at Tyco and senior vice-president for public affairs and corporate comms at ABB.
Seven Dials picks up restaurant briefs
Soho-based PR agency Seven Dials has been appointed by Korean-fusion restaurant, Jinjuu, and healthy-eating restaurant, Farmacy UK, to handle UK comms.
The agency will help to launch Farmacy UK as well as manage social media and local marketing for the restaurant. Jinjuu has been open for a year and has brought in Seven Dials manage its press office and media relations strategy.
