DeVries Global has appointed Maddy Rao as the agency’s new executive vice president for client management and strategy, based in Singapore.

Rao arrives at DeVries from Mindshare, where she was managing partner for global planning.

She brings significant experience in integrated marketing and communications work, digital expertise and global and regional perspectives for clients.

"I’m excited to be a part of a vibrant, progressive community at DeVries Global," Rao said. "I look forward to partnering with the team to create rich brand experiences that speed integration and accelerate growth for our clients."

She will serve as the client relationship leader for key global, regional and local clients in Singapore, expanding her focus across Asia over time. Rao will also help develop DeVries’ integrated capabilities.

Rao begins in her new role today, and will report to newly-appointed Asia regional managing director Andres Vejarano, who joins DeVries in April.

Heidi Hovland, CEO of DeVries Global, said: "Maddy’s appointment comes at a pivotal time of growth and possibility for DeVries Global in Asia.

"I’m confident her rich and diverse experience will have immediate impact on the value we bring to clients and our ability to further expand and mobilise our unique operating models."

Rao comes in as DeLisa Harmon’s two-year secondment as managing director of Singapore ends.

Harmon’s tenure saw DeVries expand its portfolio to clients including National Gallery Singapore, Anjali Chocolate, Ce La Vi, and Johnson & Johnson’s Acuvue beauty brand.

Hovland said: ""DeLisa’s curiously creative outlook, passion for team-building and expertise in lifestyle marketing will leave a long-lasting impression at DeVries.

"We thank her for leading our Singapore office for the past two years and wish her much success as she prepares to embark on her next adventure."

Harmon’s responsibilities as Singapore MD will pass to Vejarano.
