Wyatt wins Wolseley, Augur wins AVG work, B2L appoint head of social, Exposure boss chairs trade body and more from PRWeek UK.

Wyatt wins Wolseley

FTSE100 heating and plumbing products firm Wolseley has appointed Birmingham agency Wyatt International to handle all UK brand PR activity. The firm had previously been working with a variety of agencies including Wyatt. The agency has also taken on Jeremy Merckel, who previously spent more than a decade at integrated agency WAA, as strategy and integrated services director.

Augur wins AVG work

The tech agency Augur has been taken on by anti-virus software firm AVG to promote projects from its Innovation Labs – a 30-man team of scientists, designers and engineers experimenting with the future of everyday technology. Augur was launched in 2014 by Max Tatton-Brown, who was one of PRWeek's 30 Under 30 for 2015.

Exposure boss chairs trade body

Tim Bourne, the founder and chief executive of PR agency Exposure, has become the first chair of the Marketing Agencies Association not to have an advertising background. Bourne, already an MAA board member, was confirmed at yesterday's AGM to succeed Cheil Worldwide's Simon Hathaway, and will serve a two-year term.

B2L hire head of social 

Brands2Life have appointed Rupert Walker to the newly-created role of head of social. Walker joins Brands2Life from digital marketing agency, Kitcatt Nohr/DNA and has previously worked at Kaizo, Speed Communications and social media agency, Immediate Future. In his new role, he will lead Brands2Life’s social team, working closely with head of digital, Ben Janaway.

ICCO wins association award

The International Communications Consultancy Organisation was among the 15 winners at Friday's Association Excellence Awards. ICCO was named best international association against four other shortlisted organisations, including the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Silverstone Classic takes on PR

Goose Live Events has appointed Revolution Sports + Entertainment to steer a consumer and lifestyle PR campaign for July family event the Silverstone Classic.

Influence wins HR Owen and makes hire

PR firm Influence Associates has been appointed by luxury car dealership HR Owen to lead its PR and comms. Influence has also taken on motoring journalist Adam Hay-Nicholls as an associate director. 

Anthropologie appoints Threepipe

Following a competitive pitch, the women’s fashion, accessories and home décor retailer Anthropologie has appointed Threepipe to manage its UK and European paid search accounts.

Speed lands carpets client

Speed Communications has been appointed by carpet cleaning products maker Bissell to manage UK comms, following a competitive pitch.
