Burson-Marsteller acquires majority stake in Swiss-based sports consultancy

Burson-Marsteller has acquired a majority stake in sports consultancy TSE Consulting SA.

Headquartered in Switzerland and with regional partners in Europe, North and South America, Africa and the Middle East, the agency provides strategic advice to public sector and sports organisation clients in the practice areas of events, performance, participation and facilities.

Its clients include bidding and host cities, sports federations and major sport events such as the forthcoming Abu Dhabi 2020 World Swimming Championships.
BM’s parent company, WPP, said TSE’s unaudited revenue for 2015 was CHF 2m (£1.4m) and that the investment reflected its "commitment to digital and content, with sport critical to this strategy".

TSE Consulting managing director Lars Haue-Pedersen said: "There are enormous opportunities for us to pool our expertise in the world of international sports. The work that TSE does for our clients will bring a new dimension to Burson-Marsteller’s existing sports practice – and Burson-Marsteller’s global network and communications expertise offer TSE Consulting the opportunity to keep building on our rapid growth and influence in international sports."
